Counseling for Children, Teens & Adults in San Antonio, TX

Life can feel overwhelming at any age. Whether you’re a parent looking for support for your child, a teen trying to navigate growing up, a young adult figuring out what comes next, or an adult moving through a difficult season of life, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

I’m Faryn Miller, LPC, and I provide individual counseling for children, adolescents, young adults, and adults in San Antonio, Texas.

My approach is warm, relational, supportive, and individualized. I believe meaningful growth happens when you feel safe enough to be yourself, challenged enough to grow, and supported along the way. Therapy isn’t about having all the right answers. It’s about creating space to better understand yourself, build confidence, develop healthier ways of coping, and recognize that you can do hard things.

Children & Adolescents

Children and teens don’t always have the words to explain what they’re experiencing. Their emotions may show up through anxiety, irritability, big reactions, shutting down, difficulty at school, behavioral concerns, perfectionism, low self-esteem, or challenges with relationships and emotional regulation.

My background in education and school counseling gives me a unique understanding of how a child’s emotional world can intersect with school, friendships, family relationships, executive functioning, and behavior.

I use developmentally appropriate, relational, and play-based approaches to help children and teens better understand themselves, express emotions, build regulation skills, strengthen confidence, and learn that they are capable of navigating difficult experiences.

When appropriate, I also collaborate with parents, schools, and other professionals so that children feel supported not only in the therapy room, but in the environments where they live, learn, and grow.

Young Adults & Life Transitions

Young adulthood can bring an incredible amount of change in a relatively short period of time.

College. Leaving college. Starting a career. Moving away from home. Becoming more independent. Relationships. Marriage. Changing friendships. Starting a family. Figuring out who you are outside of the roles and expectations you’ve carried for years.

Sometimes these are exciting transitions. Sometimes they bring anxiety, uncertainty, loneliness, self-doubt, or the feeling that everyone else somehow knows what they’re doing.

Therapy can provide a place to slow things down, understand what you’re feeling, identify what matters to you, and develop confidence in navigating the next chapter of your life.

Adults

Adults need a place to land, too.

You may be managing anxiety, relationships, parenting, family dynamics, work, changing roles, major life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the mental load of everyday life.

You may even have a life that looks good from the outside while recognizing that something internally doesn’t feel quite right.

Therapy provides a space where you don’t have to take care of everyone else, have everything figured out, or minimize what you’re experiencing. Together, we can explore patterns, better understand your emotional responses, strengthen coping and communication skills, and work toward feeling more grounded and connected to yourself and the life you’re building.

Areas of Support

I commonly work with clients navigating:

Finding the Right Fit

Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit matters.

My goal is to create a space that feels genuine, comfortable, supportive, and free of judgment while also helping you move toward meaningful growth. Therapy can include laughter, difficult conversations, curiosity, learning, reflection, and practicing new ways of approaching the things that feel hard.

Whether you’re seeking counseling for your child, your teenager, yourself as a young adult, or yourself in another season of adulthood, we’ll start with where you are and work together from there.
